Poem Opportunity!

My Message for the Moon

Calling out all Future Council Members,

We are excited to share an opportunity for you! It’s called Message to the Moon - short poems will be selected and then sent to the moon. As a Future Council member you have a chance to get your poem stored on the moon.

You are invited to write a haiku that could become part of the most extraordinary archive in human history. Fifty finalists will have their haiku included in a Lunar Codex payload destined for the Moon, where they will be preserved for one million years.

What is a Haiku?

Three lines. A single, vivid moment. A haiku is a traditional Japanese poem, written in three lines with a 5, 7, 5 syllable structure (or near enough). It describes a single, vivid moment in time - a snapshot of a specific lived experience. A haiku is about the human experience. It is like a love letter to life on Earth.
