Eighteen months ago, the Future Council cast planted 50 trees and 150 shrubs in Melbourne with Landcare, National Tree day and Golden Plains Shire Council to help offset their travel and restore local habitat.
Their impact has been lasting.
The plantings have flourished, and students from Covenant College in Geelong have continued caring for the site over the past 18 months.
What began as a small regeneration effort has grown into an ongoing project carried forward by the community.
